RAM, or Random Access Memory, is a type of computer data storage, that allows the data to be read randomly without accessing the preceding bytes before that. That makes the RAM noticeably quicker than other kinds of storage devices including DVDs or HDDs in which all the information has to be read so as to access specific info. In case you have a shared hosting account, the total amount of memory which your web apps can use may not be fixed and may often rely upon the free memory that's available on the physical hosting server. With a standalone server, however, there is always a minimum amount of physical memory that'll be available at all times and will not be allocated to other customers even when it's not being used. That is valid with our virtual and dedicated hosting servers.
